host a house concert
WHAT IS A HOUSE CONCERT?
A House Concert is a live concert in your home. Transform your living room, back yard, barn, or pop-up performance space into an intimate music venue - listening room - for an afternoon or evening (or over brunch, if you fancy). Explore how you can customize an event to introduce Sorcha’s music to your community.
why host one?
Impress your friends. Support musicians. Create a community gathering space. House concerts are a wonderful way to share a one-of-a-kind live music experience with your family, friends, and neighbors AND to support independent touring musicians. Musicians love to play for an attentive audience in an intimate 'listening room' setting. Audiences love to hear new music and be part of a unique community gathering.
how do i host?
Invite 20 or more friends, family, neighbors to attend a concert in your home. Many hosts invite guests to share a potluck meal before the concert. Others provide snacks and beverages. Others invite guests to bring non-perishable items for a local food bank. Make it your own — you and the Musicians can curate the event together.
How Do musicians Get Paid?
The Host pays Musicians via a guaranteed flat fee or Attendee suggested donations. For the latter, the Host typically assigns someone to collect donations at the door, or places a basket in a high traffic area that reads: ”$10-20 Suggested Donation. All Proceeds go to the Musicians. Thanks!”
I only have space for a small group. can i still host?
Sure! If you can only fit 5-10 people in your space, you can pay a guaranteed flat fee or increase the suggested donation. You might include a meal to sweeten the deal or team up with a friend with a larger space, co-create the vibe, and expand your community - so it’s financially viable for the Musicians and fulfilling for Attendees.
what’s the difference between a “house concert” and a “house party”?
We love them both. Here’s how to clarify which you want to host:
A HOUSE PARTY involves live background music while folks mingle, and the Host pays Musicians a guaranteed flat fee. This is booked as a Special Event.
A HOUSE CONCERT is arranged like a concert with featured performers and a clear start and end time, and often with social time beforehand. The Host pays Musicians a guaranteed flat fee or suggested donations collected from Attendees.

can my house concert be…online?
Yes! We want to connect wherever you are. We love traveling to perform for you live. But we also must consider the location, travel costs, and other logistics. So if hosting Sorcha isn’t geographically possible, or in person gathering isn’t your thing…
host a Virtual House Concert via Zoom
Virtual house concerts bring their own kind of magic and accessibility. Enjoy a special online shared music experience with friends and family, wherever you are in the world. Get creative: include a specialty cocktail/mocktail recipe, suggest a theme, celebrate a milestone. Or, fire up the projector and invite friends over for an in-person watch party.
